On the road between
Spokane and Lake Chelan, a barn advertises an unusual
piece of Washington's medical history. Dr. Pierce was a
Buffalo, NY doctor who built his fortune during the late
1800s on a collection of prescriptions that he
developed, including Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription
and Dr. Pierce's Extract of Smart Weed. Photo by John
