The Washington Rural Health Association's mission is to collaboratively strengthen and improve the health of rural communities.
The Washington Rural Health Association was formed in 1988, an outgrowth of the developing vision of many individuals and organizations who recognized the value of uniting to support rural health care throughout the state of Washington. WRHA is a strong advocate for enhanced access, quality and stability for rural health services.
The Northwest Regional Rural Health Conference (RHC) is the Northwest's largest conference on rural health, incorporating Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska.
Nurse Loan Repayment Program Now Accepting Applications
Nurses have the opportunity to pay off a portion of their student loans through a program from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration. Applications are now available for the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program. The deadline to apply is March 4. In exchange for two years of service, participants receive 60 percent of their total qualifying nursing education loan balance. For an optional third year of service, participants may receive 25 percent of their original total qualifying nursing education loan balance. WRHA Annual Membership Meeting March 24, 2010
WRHA will hold its annual general membership meeting on March 24, 2010 from 4:45-6:00 pm. The meeting will be held in conjunction with the NW Regional Rural Health Conference in Spokane at the Red Lion Hotel at the Park.

Following the NW Regional Rural Health Conference the WRHA Board of Directors will meet Thursday, March 25 2010 from 12:00-3:00 pm in Spokane at the Red Lion Hotel at the Park.
WRHA UPdates the Annual Membership schedule
Starting in November 2010 WRHA members will see a difference in their annual membership renewal costs. Membership rates have not changed (individual memberships are still $70/year and organizational memberships are still $240/year). However, WRHA will be pro-rating all members' dues to reflect continuing membership through September 30th 2010. Starting October 1st 2010 all WRHA memberships will move to an October 1st through September 30th annual membership schedule. This change is occurring to help ease membership processing that has been occurring on a monthly basis. Join the WRHA Listserve
WRHA maintains a member listserve that is used for regular communication between and across members. All members are encouraged to subscribe to the WRHA list serve by going to http://lists.wsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/wrhaand entering a user name and password. Once you have subscribed you can use the listserve to make announcements about your organization or agency, share information with other WRHA members, and receive information from other participating members.
